NOTICE TO RICHMOND LISTENERS

If you have attempted to listen to 103.1 over the past week or so, you have probably noticed it's either not there, or sounds very poor.

We receive WNRN on special equipment at the Bon Air 103.1 transmitter site. Since we signed on in early December, we have noted a sharp increase in interference from a local adjacent channel station. We can't say if this is intentional or not, but We did find a piece of equipment to deal with the problem effectively. However this device develops a problem after several hours use, resulting in distorted audio. We do not know at this time whether the problem is with the particular unit we have, or if it is a design problem. It is very new and esoteric technology, and not even the manufacturer can explain the problem, let alone offer any solutions.

There are other, lower-tech "fixes" for the problems, but not all of them cost-effective. Please keep checking your radio. When or if a solution is found, we will turn it back on. We invite you to listen online for now.
